Modality & Approach

Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about me and our potential work together. I mainly use an integrated relational and psychodynamic therapeutic framework; meaning that I mainly focus on relationships, including our own, as well as past familial dynamics and attachment styles to help with insight to increase self determination and changing old behavioral patterns that may no longer useful.

I also provide clinical diagnostic assessments and testing if needed. I can provide letters for medical treatment and assist in navigating through next steps to ensure seemless care between myself and your medical care provider if needed.

I also may use techniques such as ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), somatic mindfulness-based CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems, and narrative therapy among others when appropriate.

For couples, I mostly use an EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) model of care and use John Gottman’s framework as needed.

I am an active and engaged therapist, meaning I will not only be providing a compassionate and active listening space, but may also engage in counsel, coach in skill development, or teach new ways to approach relationships, reduce painful feelings, or heal from difficult experiences. I may also provide relevant resources, advise on next steps on how to work through challenging or difficult issues and feelings as they arise. I practice client feed-back informed care.

Together, we will work toward your goals in the best way that is suited for your specific needs.

Walk and Talk therapy

Walk and Talk therapy is an effective option for those who want to experience gentle body movement while talking. This can be helpful for clients who are wanting a more personal interactive approach to therapy and for those who already enjoy being in the outdoors.

The location of walk and talk therapy is in North Portland at a public park. Specific location details will be provided once an appointment is obtained. Additionally, a waiver must be sign before we can begin.
